Job summary

Our client, a furniture manufacturer in Fond du Lac, is hiring Upholstery Associates to join their production team. You will apply fabric to frames, read production paperwork, and turn raw pieces into finished products.

Early shifts finish by early afternoon, with pay $18.50/hour. You’ll work from production orders, use hand tools and pneumatic staple guns, and ensure quality with careful inspection of fit and finish.

Qualifications

• Sewing experience required (professional or hobby).
• Able to read written instructions and work orders.
• Able to measure with a tape measure and handle fabric.
• Able to stand for the full shift and lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
• Reliable attendance, especially for early start times.
• Upholstery or manufacturing experience is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Position, stretch, and secure fabric onto furniture frames and cushions.

• Read and follow blueprints, job orders, bills of materials, and work instructions.
• Measure materials accurately using tape measures and other measuring tools.

What You’ll Do

• Position, stretch, and secure fabric onto furniture frames and cushions
• Use hand tools and pneumatic staple guns to attach materials
• Read and follow blueprints, job orders, bills of materials, and work instructions, in print or on a screen
• Measure materials accurately using tape measures and other measuring tools
• Label products and components according to production orders and department procedures
• Check your work for fit, wrinkles, and loose threads
• Keep your work area clean and organized
• Follow all safety procedures

What You Need

• Sewing experience (professional or hobby, such as home sewing, quilting, or alterations)
• Ability to read and follow written instructions and work orders
• Comfort measuring with a tape measure and working with fabric
• Ability to stand for the full shift and lift 25 lbs repetitively and on occasion 50 lbs
• Comfort working at a steady production pace
• Reliable attendance, especially for early start times
• Upholstery or manufacturing experience is a plus, but not required
