Job summary

Levin Furniture is seeking an Apprentice Technician to join the Warehouse team. You will participate in Levin Apprentice Program, learning to inspect, evaluate and repair merchandise while applying finishes and upholstery skills.

The role emphasizes safety, accurate paperwork, and strong communication as you progress toward becoming a skilled technician within our warehouse operations.

Qualifications

• Experience with paints, fill sticks, markers and hand tools.
• Ability to color match using paints, markers and toners.
• Ability to apply lacquer finishes in the spray booth using an air sprayer.
• Ability to repair upholstery.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, and listening skills.
• Basic reading and comprehension skills.
• Ability to complete paperwork in an accurate, neat and efficient manner.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to use wireless hand scanner.

Job Title: Apprentice Technician Department: Warehouse

Reports to: Warehouse Supervisor

Purpose:

Completes the required training program to become a skilled technician as described in the Levin Apprentice Program Guidelines.

• Master Essential Skills List in different types of repair.
• Inspect, evaluate, and repair of merchandise.
• Practice safe and secure material handling methods in accordance with product handling standards.
• Report errors found on documents to supervisor.
• Operate manual and mechanical equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Abilities:

Education and Experience:

• One year Levin experience as a Stock, Material Handler or Delivery associate.
• Annual Appraisal rating of 3 (meets expectations) or higher.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to communicate effectively with customers and co-workers using telephone.
• Ability to bend, stoop, reach, stand, push, pull and lift cartons weighing approximately 50 - 100+ lbs. repetitively.
• Ability to use vision to read documents and computer screen.
• Ability to use hands to type information into computer.
