Porter’s Office Products is an established and fast-growing company, searching for a Furniture Sales Associate in our Rexburg Idaho area. Normal shift will be Monday through Friday 8:30 to 5:00 p.m.---with no weekends! This immediate, FULL TIME position is perfect for someone who has great communication skills, is organized, has attention to detail, knowledge of office furniture, and enjoys working with the public. This is a great opportunity with a well-established company for someone who is a self-starter, energetic, and loves to bring great service to customers.

  • Provides a Blue Cow Experience for all customers who come in the door
  • Responsible for the execution of the Blue Cow Furniture Showroom & Retail Floor
  • Assists customers in selecting furniture and office supplies
  • Resolves customer complaints regarding sales and services
  • Maintain knowledge of all vendor products, pricing, options, finishes, and details
  • Ensures retail shelves are fully stocked and organized
  • Sets up advertising displays and keeps furniture showroom organized and inviting
  • Orders merchandise when out of stock or special-order items for customers
  • Creates custom stamps for clients on the spot
  • Ensures inventory records are correct and up to date on all items on the retail floor
  • Ensures retail labels are correct and up to date
  • Ensures all furniture items on the showroom floor are labeled and priced
  • Accepts payments and makes change
  • Safeguards the cash and cash registers
  • Monitors customer preferences to determine the focus of sales efforts
  • Monitors furniture emails and furniture communicator to ensure all clients are taken care of in a timely manner
  • Assists clients with moderate furniture design needs when necessary
  • Acts as backup to ensure reader board is updated weekly with ads that promote people to come in the store
  • Sales experience preferred
Other Responsibilities
  • Answer incoming phone calls within the first 2 rings
  • Responsible for acting as a liaison between customers and companies. Assists with complaints, orders, errors, and other queries.
  • Use telephones to communicate with customers and verify order information.
  • Suggest solutions when a product malfunctions.
  • Inform customer of sales and promotions.
  • Utilize computer technology to best assist customers
  • Serve as a backup on the retail floor
  • Serve as backup for custom stamps
  • Assist Accounting department with filing, payment posting, and other tasks as assigned
  • Make customer service calls over the phone to assigned active and inactive customers on a regular basis utilizing Goldmine to schedule activity and log calls
