Job summary

American Furniture Warehouse in Arizona is seeking a Furniture Repair Technician to evaluate damaged merchandise and perform daily repairs of stock items, damaged product, and customer-owned goods. The role requires use of hand and electrical tools, along with paints and solvents, in a fast-paced retail/warehouse setting.

Qualifications

• Preferably has at least 4 months of furniture repair experience.
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to operate equipment needed to do job.
• Ability to work cooperatively as a member of a team and effectively communicate with all team members.
• Ability to perform physical activities such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping and handling of materials.

Responsibilities

• Reconstruct furniture, replace parts, and in some cases modify or rebuild missing parts.
• Inspects items according to instructions and reports damaged goods to supervisor.
• Comprehend all methods of repair for wood, upholstery, glass and assembly of RTA.
• Performs routine maintenance procedures as instructed.
• Maintain repair log and notify manager if item cannot be repaired.
• Maintain work area – be sure all chemicals are labeled, place all dirty rags in proper containers, be familiar with hazard communication and MSDS.
• Commitments to AFW’s safety policies and procedures. Promotes awareness and owns personal safety and the safety of others.
