Job description

We’re seeking a positive and motivated individual who embodies our Core Values of Consistency, Adaptability, Reliability, and Teamwork (CART) to join our team as a Furniture Repair Technician. Working in our Equipment Prep Department, this person will be responsible for revitalizing and restoring damaged, worn, or used furniture to a beautiful finish.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Perform all parts of the finishing process: prep, staining, priming, painting, sealing, scuffing, top coating, etc.
2. Apply finish materials to surfaces using brushes, rollers, spray guns, etc.
3. Repair and replace parts of damaged furniture.
4. Wood repairs: including but not limited to filing, coloring, gluing and other repairs necessary to restore product to original condition.
5. Leather/vinyl furniture repairs: including but not limited to rips and tears, sewing, and other repairs necessary to restore product to original condition.
6. Upholstered furniture repairs: including but not limited to fabric, sewing, and other repairs necessary to restore product to original condition.
7. Perform additional duties as required.

Work Conditions:

1. Work is performed in a well-lit, clean warehouse setting, in which some areas may not be heated or air-conditioned.
2. Handle products in accordance with company safety policies.
3. Safety is a priority – proper safety equipment and training is provided.
4. Expect physical demands including bending, lifting, and repetitive movements.
5. Frequently lift/move up to 25 lbs and occasionally lift/move up to 50 lbs with proper lifting techniques.
6. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

Schedule + Pay:

1. Pay: $18 – $21 per hour based on experience.
2. Shift: Monday - Friday from 8:00am – 4:00pm.
3. Possible overtime hours during our busiest months (November through May).

Qualifications and Requirements:

1. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or 3 to 5 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and previous experience required.
2. Proficiency in the English language (written and verbal) is required.
3. Basic math skills.
4. Ability to multitask, prioritize, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
5. Physically capable of standing, lifting, and performing repetitive movements in a warehouse environment.
6. Must complete a 5-minute Behavioral Assessment through the Predictive Index.
7. Must pass a company background check and drug screen.
