Job summary

Living Spaces in Aurora, CO is seeking a Furniture Repair Apprentice. This entry-level role will learn to repair and restore wood, fabric, leather, and upholstery, including refinishing and re-upholstery, under supervision with a focus on quality and safety.

You will gain hands-on experience with case goods, fabric and leather upholstery, and learn to work with power tools, assess damages, and assist with parts ordering while maintaining OSHA-compliant practices and a clean warehouse

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required or equivalent experience.
• 1+ year experience in a distribution or manufacturing environment.
• Experience in basic assembly, wood working, or product manufacturing.
• Basic painting/color blending knowledge preferred.
• Proficient with power tools and repair equipment.
• Experience with Microsoft Office programs.

Responsibilities

• Repair and restore wood, fabric, leather, and upholstery following standards.
• Operate power tools and repair equipment safely.
• Maintain inventory for repair kits/tools and order parts as needed.
• Assist with set up and use of tools and equipment.
• Ensure OSHA compliance and a clean work area.

Position SummaryThe Furniture Repair Apprentice is an entry level position that will gain experience in performing the basic skills utilized to repair wood, fabric, leather, and cleaning repairs. Develop skills in case goods, fabric upholstery and leather upholstery restoration. Will learn how to repair and restore assembled furniture and upholstery in accordance with Living Spaces standards.Position DescriptionEssential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Work with Service Technician to learn how to repair or restore product using proven techniques, including refinishing, re-upholstery, painting, etc.Learn how to maintain inventory and stock levels for all repair furniture kits/toolsLearn how to repair upholstered products stitching, panel replacements mechanism/spring repair or replacements, frame repairs buttons, as well as other componentsRepair wood products, burn ins, color matching, panel replacement, adjustment of drawers, doors, glides as well as other componentsPerform daily tasks refurbishing furniture to 1st quality and the finishing of goodsLearn to evaluate damages and select appropriate methods of repair and/or restoration for wood furniture, leather, fabric, and upholsteryAssist with ordering replacement parts as neededAssist with set up and operating power tools such as drills, sanders, saw, and other tools required for repairCommunicate any maintenance of tools, parts and hardware neededEnsure appropriate disposition of damaged productLearn to conduct operations in compliance with OSHA standardsMaintains a clean free from debris warehouse floorMeet company standards for productivityMust be available to work a flexible schedule, weekends and holidaysQualificationsEducation/Experience: High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Minimum 1 year of experience working in a distribution or manufacturing environment. 1 year of experience in basic assembly, wood working, or product manufacturing. Basic knowledge of color blending or painting is preferred. Working knowledge of power tools and equipment necessary for repair work. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual must have experience in Microsoft Office programs.Certificates and Licenses: None RequiredPosition Hiring RangeThe hiring pay range provides a good faith estimate of the salary or hourly wage that Living Spaces expects to pay for the position upon hire. Pay will be determined by several factors, including, but not limited to: applicant's education, relevant work experience, knowledge, applicable and relevant skills and abilities, market demand, Company budget, as well as internal equity and alignment with geographic market data. Living Spaces reserves the right to modify this page at any time.Compensation: $19.00 - $24.70Overtime pay is available for eligible, non-exempt Team Members. Reimbursement for expenses as required by applicable law and Company policy.
