Job summary

NMS is seeking a Furniture Technician to install, assemble, and maintain office furniture and workspace systems in a secure Anchorage facility. The role supports daily operations, ensuring spaces are functional, safe, and configured to organizational requirements while following security and confidentiality policies.

The position involves coordinating furniture moves, setups for new hires and events, and performing preventive maintenance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in furniture installation or facilities maintenance preferred.
• Must complete pre-employment checks including background and drug screening; travel to testing facility may be required.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team and maintain positive relationships.
• Ability to read work orders, furniture layouts, and floor plans; strong tool proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, install, disassemble, relocate, and reconfigure office furniture and related furnishings.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on office furniture and workstation systems.
• Respond to work orders for moves, reconfigurations, and installations.
• Coordinate workspace setup for new employees, relocations, and events.
• Inspect furniture for damage and safety; coordinate repairs as needed.
• Maintain inventory of furniture, parts, tools, and equipment.
• Assist with receiving, unloading, and staging deliveries.
• Safely operate hand tools, power tools, dollies, and material-handling equipment.
• Coordinate activities with Facility Management, Building Administration, contractors, and security.
• Maintain accurate work order and inventory records.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and security procedures.
