Job summary

Materion is hiring a Refractory Installation Specialist in Elmore, OH. You will work with a furnace rebuild crew to refurbish furnaces, interpret drawings, and perform precision tasks with a focus on safety and quality.

The role requires experience with welding, pipe fitting, rigging, and basic fabrication. A High School Diploma or GED is required, along with strong math, communication, and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read drawings/blueprints and use measuring devices.
• Broad knowledge of furnace materials and rebuild procedures.
• Welding, brazing, silver soldering and cutting various materials.
• Experience with welding, torching, fabrication equipment and related tools.
• Knowledge of refractory materials to avoid contamination.
• Basic computer skills; good verbal and written communication.
• Demonstrated mechanical ability and math skills.
• Export compliance eligibility for ITAR/EAR access.

Responsibilities

• Works with furnace rebuild crew to refurbish and maintain furnaces.
• Plan and inspect work; follow SOPs and quality procedures.
• Perform preventative/repair maintenance on equipment.
• Report irregularities and seek necessary repairs or parts.
• Coordinate with Maintenance and Electrical teams to reduce downtime.
• Handle and dispose of wastes per procedures; PPE and 5S compliance.
• Pipefitting, rigging, sheet metal fabrication and repairs.
