Job summary

Aerotek in Orange, CA is hiring a Furnace / Heat Treat Operator to set up, monitor, and optimize high‑temperature processing. You will ensure parts meet specs, track traceability, and support safe, efficient production in a metal manufacturing environment.

The role requires reading work orders and blueprints, operating furnaces, performing inspections, and maintaining documentation while following strict safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read work orders, blueprints and process sheets.
• Experience with heat treatment or furnace operation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set furnace temperatures and monitor heat cycles as instructed.
• Load/unload materials safely and efficiently.
• Optimize loading for throughput while maintaining traceability.
• Perform quenching and controlled cooling to specification.
• Inspect finished parts with measuring tools for conformance.
• Document inspection results and report deviations.
• Follow safety procedures and perform preventive maintenance.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and clean staging areas.
• Read and interpret orders, travelers, and process docs.
