Job description

Core Responsibilities:
  1. Perform all activities necessary to select and regulate furnace temperatures for specific treating jobs.
  2. Conduct quarterly surveys.
  3. Position material on the platen according to the operation sheet and load the furnace for prescribed heating cycles to bring materials to proper temperatures.
  4. Remove materials from the furnace when cooled to proper temperatures.
  5. Perform and complete first article inspections using all shop gauging, including applicable plate work and visual inspection of parts, to ensure proper process flow.
  6. Interpret and integrate all processes to ensure the consistent production of capable parts.
  7. Learn and adhere to required safety standards and procedures.
Qualifications:
  1. Must be able to read and interpret operation sheets.
  2. Interface with Manufacturing, Engineering, and other functions on processing issues and collaborate to develop a capable process ensuring parts meet standards.
  3. Ability to work in a challenging, schedule-driven environment.
  4. Knowledge of Lean Principles and 6S; drive process and lean improvements.
Education Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Technical school training for Machinist skilled trade is a plus.
