TBT GROUP INC is hiring a Furnace Operator in Bellmawr, NJ to join our manufacturing team. This hands-on role focuses on operating kiln equipment, loading ceramic components, and maintaining precise temperatures and cycles to ensure high-quality output.

You will monitor firing schedules, document production, and work with teammates to meet schedules while following safety procedures and PPE requirements. This position offers growth and development within a dynamic plant environment.

Qualifications

• Experience operating furnaces or kilns is preferred but not required.
• Familiarity with powder metallurgy or compaction processes is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret technical specifications.
• Experience using calipers and micrometers for precision measurement.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work well in a team.

Responsibilities

• Operate kiln equipment according to established procedures, firing schedules and production specs.
• Load, position and unload ceramic components in kilns per loading procedures.
• Monitor kiln temperatures, cycles and firing times to ensure product quality.
• Verify kiln settings and operating parameters to meet production requirements.
• Inspect fired components for defects and quality discrepancies.
• Identify and report equipment malfunctions and process issues to supervisors.
• Ensure availability of materials and kiln furniture for production tasks.
• Perform routine kiln cleaning and minor adjustments per procedures.
• Maintain accurate production records and logs.

About the Role:

TBT GROUP INC is looking for a skilled Furnace Operator to join our manufacturing team in Bellmawr, NJ. This is a hands-on opportunity to be a key part of our production process in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Shift Differential: $.50

Required PPE (Company Provided): Lab Coats, Boots, Boot Guards, Gloves, Safety Glasses, and Respirator.

Responsibilities:

• Operate kiln equipment according to established procedures, firing schedules, and production specifications.
• Prepare, load, position, and unload ceramic components in kilns in accordance with established loading procedures.
• Monitor kiln temperatures, heating and cooling cycles, firing times, and operating conditions to ensure proper processing.
• Verify kiln settings and operating parameters to maintain consistent product quality and meet production requirements.
• Inspect fired components for defects, cracking, warping, discoloration, and other quality discrepancies.
• Identify and report equipment malfunctions, temperature irregularities, and processing issues to the Lead Kiln Operator or Shop Supervisor.
• Ensure required materials, kiln furniture, and supplies are available to complete assigned production tasks.
• Perform routine kiln cleaning, maintenance, and minor adjustments in accordance with established procedures.
• Maintain accurate production records, kiln firing logs, temperature records, and required production travelers.
• Follow all established safety procedures, Company policies, and quality control requirements.
• Handle hot materials and kiln equipment safely in accordance with established operating procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Properly handle, identify, and store processed components in accordance with Company procedures.
• Communicate production issues and equipment concerns to the Lead Kiln Operator or Shop Supervisor.
• Work cooperatively with other production personnel to meet production schedules and quality standards.
• Perform other related duties and assignments as required by the Company.

Requirements:

• Prior experience operating Furnaces (Kilns) or similar industrial machinery preferred but not required
• Familiarity with powder metallurgy or compaction processes is a plus
• Ability to read and technical specifications
• Experience using calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality and accuracy
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
