Job summary

Colonial Group in Santa Ana, CA is seeking a Furnace Loader to move parts between operations and departments. You will load ovens, monitor temperatures and ensure accurate part counts while maintaining traceability.

The role requires forklift operation, strong attendance, and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions. You will cross-train across multiple operations and support safety and quality standards in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Refer to daily schedule to prioritize jobs for press ovens.
• Check travelers to ensure correct oven temperature is used.
• Load ovens after matching alloy and code for the job and traveler.
• Move parts from press tables to baskets and to etch.
• Transport parts between operations using a forklift.
• Load and unload parts into cart or etching basket.
• Maintain traceability and accurate part counts.
• Maintain good attendance and be on time.
• Perform other duties as assigned by department manager.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a Furnace Loader that will be responsible for transporting and handling of parts between operations and departments.

Job Requirements:

• Checks with etch department to determine which parts are finished and ready to move to heat treat or be cut.
• Checks the ovens, charts and status of work in-progress and keeps the job moving to the next operation appropriately.
• Take copies of travelers to production to inform them of status of job for planning.
• Refer to daily schedule to determine priority of jobs to move into press ovens.
• Check travelers to ensure the right oven temperature is being used.
• Load ovens after confirming that the alloy and code for the job and traveler match. (Alert Press Lead if it does not match).
• Continually remove parts from press tables, place in baskets and move to etch.
• Using a forklift, transport parts between operations.
• Load and unload parts into cart or etching basket.
• Maintain traceability when handling parts.
• Keep accurate part-counts.
• Strong commitment to good attendance and being on time as it is critical to meet the needs of needs.
• Perform any other duties not mentioned above when instructed to do so by the department manager.

Compensation: $18.50 - $20.50 an hour. This is the lowest to highest hourly rate we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
