Job summary

Potters Industries in Muscatine, IA is seeking a Furnace/Grinding Operator for the night shift from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. You will operate furnace and grinding equipment to meet quality and production goals, and support plant operations.

Candidates should have a High School Diploma or GED and at least one year of manufacturing experience; forklift experience; ability to wear a respirator; and computer skills with Outlook/Excel/Word/Access. Willingness to work any day is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• One year of experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting required.
• Must be able to work any day of the week.
• Must be medically cleared to wear a dust filtering respirator when needed.
• Forklift/front-end loader experience preferred.
• Computer skills with Microsoft Outlook/Excel/Word/Access required.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate furnace and grinding equipment to meet quality and production goals.
• Safely operate plant vehicles—forklifts and front-end loader—in support of production activities.
• Perform basic analytical testing to confirm quality of material in processes.
• Interpret analytical data and adjust processes to maintain quality output.
• Monitor levels of product and record data in computer database and logs.
• Maintain housekeeping and assist in basic maintenance of production area.
• Participate in Health, Safety and Environmental activities and audits.

Job Responsibilities:

• Safely operate our furnace and grinding equipment to meet quality & production goals
• Safely operate plant vehicles forklifts and front-end loader in support of production activities
• Perform basic analytical testing to confirm quality of material in processes
• Interpret analytical data and adjusts processes to maintain quality output
• Monitor levels of product within process equipment and record data within computer database and fill out paper logs during daily operations
• Housekeeping and basic maintenance of production area
• Participate in all Health, Safety and Environmental activities, monthly plant audits, accident investigations and Hazard IDs

Minimum Requirements for Consideration:

• Must be able to work any day of the week
