Piedmont Technical College is seeking adjunct faculty to teach at the Lex Walters Campus or at six county centers in Laurens, Newberry, Edgefield, Saluda, Abbeville, and McCormick. Opportunities may include daytime or evening classes, online instruction, and dual credit courses offered at local high schools.

These are temporary, part-time positions. A bachelor's degree is required, or an associate degree with demonstrated competencies in Funeral Service or Mortuary Science.

Responsibilities

• Teach a diverse student body at multiple locations per established syllabi.
• Utilize instructional technology and apply effective teaching methods.
• Plan, manage and deliver course instruction; follow EPA and OSHA regulations for the program.
• Participate in college functions and support continuous improvement of the program and college.
• Serve as a professional team member supporting the college's mission and vision.

Job Responsibilities

Piedmont Technical College is accepting applications to build an active pool of qualified candidates for Adjunct Faculty (temporary, part-time) positions. Adjunct instructors may teach at the Lex D. Walters Campus and/or at one of the college’s six county centers located in Laurens, Newberry, Edgefield, Saluda, Abbeville, and McCormick. Opportunities may include daytime or evening classes, online instruction, and dual credit courses offered at local high schools. Applications will be reviewed on an as-needed basis as teaching opportunities become available. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, teaching a diverse student body in accordance with established syllabi at various locations, utilizing instructional technology, and applying a variety of effective teaching methods. Additional duties include planning, managing, and delivering course instruction; following all EPA and OSHA regulations that pertain to the program; participating in college functions as needed; and applying teaching practices that support the continuous improvement of both the program and the college. Adjunct faculty are expected to serve as professional team members who support the mission and vision of the college while performing their duties with the highest level of quality and service.

Minimum And Additional Requirements

A bachelor's degree is required, or an associate degree with demonstrated competencies in Funeral Service or Mortuary Science. Candidates must also hold licensure as a funeral director and/or embalmer.
