Job summary

Catholic Funeral & Cemetery Services in Lafayette, CA seeks a Funeral Event Planner to guide families through arrangements and serve as the primary contact for funeral services, coordinating with parishes, vendors, and CFCS staff.

The role requires event planning experience for large functions or a Funeral Director license; you will communicate, coordinate, and ensure all aspects of the funeral service case are completed with care, working onsite with a dedicated team.

Qualifications

• Event planning experience a must.
• Associates degree or 60 hours towards an Associate’s Degree required.
• Funeral Director license a plus.
• Valid Driver’s License required.

Responsibilities

• Guide families through funeral arrangements with care and compassion.
• Serve as primary point of contact to families, parish staff, vendors and CFCS staff.

The FuneralEvent Planner serves the families by guiding them through the process of making informed decisions when arranging a loved one’s funeral with care and compassion.You will be the primary point of contact to families, parish staff, vendors, and CFCS staff for the funeral services.As our FuneralEvent Coordinator, you will communicate, coordinate, and follow-through on all aspects of the funeral service case.

Qualifications

• Event planning experience a must
• An associates degree or 60 hours towards an Associate’s Degree (any field of study)
• Funeral Director license a plus
• Valid Driver’s License a must
• Interest in obtaining a funeral license a plus
• Interest in working in a Catholic environment, all backgrounds welcome to apply
• Passion for people
• Ability to coordinate with many internal departments and external stakeholders
• Great organizational skills and ability to multi-task

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift or move objects weighing between 75-100 lbs.
• Ability to push and pull up to 300 lbs. with a wheeled cart
• Ability to stand for long periods on a hard surface
