Vertin offers a Funeral Director Apprentice position to learn the art and responsibility of caring for families during life's meaningful moments, under mentorship and a clear path toward a Wisconsin Funeral Director License.

You will gain hands-on experience—from meeting families to coordinating services—while learning the operational side of a funeral home, supported by a team with a long-standing history of honoring lives for over a century.

Qualifications

• Must be available for on-call rotations.
• Professional appearance.
• Age 18 or older.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to lift/move 100+ lbs.
• Must obtain and complete the 16-hour funeral director apprenticeship course.

Responsibilities

• Handle the removal, care, and transport of a decedent with professionalism and integrity.
• Provide transportation to various surrounding communities.
• Safely drive company-owned vehicles to perform first-call transfers of a decedent, following local and state protocols, policies, and procedures.
• Interact professionally and courteously with bereaved family members when performing transfers.
• Keep company vehicles clean and well maintained.
• Follow company dress code.
• This is an at-need role and must have the ability to be on call 3-4 nights/week.
