Job summary

Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home in Florence, KY, seeks an Apprentice Funeral Director/Embalmer to learn under licensed directors and assist with all aspects of funeral service operations. The role includes transportation, decedent care, visitations and services setup, embalming assistance as permitted by law, and coordinating with families.

The Apprentice will work various hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and participate in community outreach and facility support to grow

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Mortuary Science
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Must be able to work evenings and weekends as needed
• Valid state issued driver's license in good standing and acceptable driving record
• Ability to lift 75lbs+

Responsibilities

• Assist with all aspects of funeral service operations under licensed directors
• Participate in on-call rotation including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Assist with transportation, care of decedents, and preparation for visitations and services
• Support with embalming and other procedures as permitted by law
• Collaborate with families, coworkers, vendors, and other service providers to facilitate services
