Job summary

Catholic Funeral & Cemetery Services is seeking a Funeral Director at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Wheat Ridge, CO.

The role requires a Mortuary Science degree or near completion and a valid CO driver’s license to handle on-site funeral operations with sensitivity to families. You will arrange ceremonies, coordinate services, and ensure respectful handling of the deceased, while maintaining strong community involvement and adherence to Catholic guidelines.

Qualifications

• Must have a Mortuary Science degree OR completing degree.
• Must have a valid Colorado driver’s license to drive a car(s) hearse or limousine.
• Must have a flexible schedule depending on a family’s needs.
• Must be able to fulfill “On Call” hours.
• Mandatory Criminal Background, Credit Report, Education & Employment Verification, and Motor Vehicle Records.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and obtain any documents related to services, cremations, maintenance, etc.
• Retain and grow market through active involvement within the community
• Supervise and care for the deceased in a respectful manner while performing a variety of tasks

• Drive Funeral Home vehicles for services and transportation of families for service

Our Funeral Director is responsible for providing our families with customer service that will provide peace following the loss of a loved one. You will communicate, coordinate, and follow-through on all aspects of the funeral service case.The Funeral Director implements choices made by the families regarding the funeral, final disposition of the body and memorialization of the individual.

Physical Requirements

• Lift, carry, push, or pullmore than 50 lbs. without equipment or co-workers
• Adequate hearing to carryout telephonic conversations with customers
• Able to operate a computer and mouse, copier, printer, and telephone
• Dailyintermediate periods of non-interrupted mental/sensory concentration (usually more than one (1) hour at a time, occasionally for several hours)
• At times, require work outside in the coldor hot weather
• On occasion, work done on weekends, evening, nighttime, and holidays

Mt. Olivet Cemeterywas consecrated in 1892 and is located on the western side of the Denver Metro area in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. It is the largest cemetery in Colorado containing 392 acres.St. Simeon Cemeterywas consecrated in 2004 and is located on the eastern side of the Denver Metro area in Aurora, Colorado. The Mortuary has two locations. The first is located on the grounds of Mt. Olivet Cemetery and was opened in 1981. The second was the recent acquisition of Caldwell-Kirk Mortuary. These entities serve the Catholic Community of the Denver metro area and its various parishes, missions, and apostolates and other members of the general public regardless of their religious affiliation.
