Job summary

Service Corporation International is seeking a Funeral Attendant in Montebello, CA. You will prepare the deceased and arrange rooms for visitation, greet families, and provide information while supporting funeral services.

The role requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, and may involve pallbearer duties and driving families to service locations. Prior funeral industry experience is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid state issued driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• Funeral industry experience preferred.
• No prior work experience required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare casket and deceased for visitation or funeral services (dressing, adjusting clothing, transporting).
• Prepare rooms for services (setting up chairs, tables, guest books, flowers, keepsakes).
• Greet visitors, provide programs, answer questions, and relay funeral information.
• May serve as pallbearer and drive families to cemetery sites.
• Perform mailroom tasks: answer phones, review documents, data-entry into proprietary systems, and receive deliveries.
• Transport documents, mementos, flowers, and vehicles as needed and assist with vehicle cleaning and fueling.

Duties include setting up rooms for ceremonies, copying memorial materials, greeting and escorting friends of the family, driving family members and cleaning vehicles. Funeral Attendants also assist with the preparation of the deceased and casket. The ability to work beyond standard business hours, including weekends and holidays, is required.JOB RESPONSIBILITIESFuneral ServicesPrepare casket and deceased for visitation or funeral services such as dressing casket, adjusting deceased clothing and jewelry, and transporting casket through hallways.
