Express Employment Professionals is hiring two Funeral Assistants for a respected, family-owned funeral home network in Delaware. The roles are full-time with no prior experience required, supporting Funeral Directors and handling post-ceremony duties.

Responsibilities include assisting with funeral arrangements, presentation of the body, and vehicle preparation. Benefits include insurance, retirement options, and paid time off, with overtime paid at time-and-a-half.

Qualifications

• Extremely high hospitality acumen and presentable appearance.
• Experience working in a busy service environment.
• Ability to prove competence in the relevant areas of work.
• Current full driving license.
• Ability to undertake out-of-hours and weekend work.
• Ability to cope with the emotional demands of the job.
• Flexibility when called upon to work additional hours at short notice.

Express Employment Professionals is hiring for 2 Funeral Assistants for one of the oldest and most respected funeral homes in Delaware. Our client is a family-owned business with four funeral home locations (New Castle, Newark, Delaware City and Middletown). The position is full-time and NO experience is required.

• Ensure familiarity with each individual funeral arrangement, completing pre- and post-funeral checks.
• Assist with preparation and presentation of the body in a professional, caring and dignified manner.
• Prepare funeral cars including daily cleaning.
• Ensure all vehicles are checked both pre- and post-use, ensuring they are fit for purpose and in excellent condition.

This is a Direct Hire position with benefits including:

Regular hours are 8 am - 4:30 pm. Hourly employees who work over 40 hours a week will be paid time and a half.

• Christmas bonus for ALL employees
• $125 to $175 for removals.
