Job summary

Service Corporation International is seeking a Funeral Assistant to support families through bereavement rites, ceremonies, and related service arrangements. The role involves coordinating logistics, coordinating with licensed personnel, and providing compassionate client service at the Tucson location.

Responsibilities include assisting with vehicles, chapel and cemetery services, delivering keepsakes, and assisting with aftercare and referrals.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years related experience as a Funeral Assistant.
• Current state driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• Basic knowledge of religious and fraternal organizations customs.
• Knowledge of computers and some software including MS Office Suite required.
• Good communication skills.
• Problem solving skills.
• Ability to multi task and set priorities.
• Detail oriented.

Responsibilities

• Arrange, conduct and direct bereavement rites, including funeral and memorial ceremonies in a professional, organized, and caring manner.
• Coordinate parking of cars, ushering, driving funeral vehicles, assisting at chapel, church services and cemetery.
• Deliver flowers, caskets, urns, photos and other keepsakes to client families; set up and remove chairs.
• Provide aftercare when needed, including delivery of documents and information on insurance and benefits.
• Share pre-need referrals with Family Service Counselors and assist with documentation and reports.
• Answer phones and assist with general office duties; maintain vehicles and facilities.

Provides exemplary customer service in all areas of helping client families following the loss of a loved one.
