Job summary

Service Corporation International in Fremont, CA is seeking a Funeral Assistant to organize and direct bereavement rites with professionalism and care. You will confirm authorizations, assist families, coordinate parking, usher, drive funeral vehicles, and help with chapel and cemetery support.

Qualifications

• License: valid driver’s license with clean record.

Responsibilities

• Arranges and directs funeral ceremonies professionally and compassionately.
• Confirms authorization to proceed with service arrangements.
• Coordinates parking, ushering, transport of caskets, flowers and keepsakes.
• Sets up/removes chairs and assists at chapel, church services and cemetery.
• Assists with aftercare and pre-arrangements for next of kin; maintains records.

Assists in the implementation of choices made by the families/legal representative regarding the funeral, final disposition of the body and memorialization of the individual. Provides exemplary customer service in all areas of helping client families following the loss of a loved one.
