Position Overview: We are seeking a compassionate, strategic Freelance Fundraising Consultant to support individuals and families in launching and managing crowdfunding campaigns—particularly for medical expenses, memorial services, emergencies, and pet-related needs. This role combines one-on-one campaign advising with proactive channel partnership development across key institutions including funeral homes, hospices, hospitals, and veterinary clinics throughout California.

Responsibilities:

• Assist individuals in crafting compelling fundraising campaigns, including title, story, imagery, and proof documentation;
• Guide fundraisers on setting realistic goals, creating update strategies, and maximizing social media outreach;
• Provide expert advice on platform best practices, fraud prevention, and donor trust-building;
• Track campaign performance and recommend data-driven optimizations to increase visibility and donations.
• Identify and engage potential referral partners, including:
• Funeral homes
• Hospice centers
• Veterinary clinics

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience in social work, community fundraising, patient support, nonprofit communications, or customer success;
• Strong storytelling and content writing skills; ability to guide users through emotionally sensitive narrative crafting;
• Familiarity with GoFundMe or similar crowdfunding platforms; understanding of donor behavior and campaign dynamics;
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build long-term, trust-based relationships across diverse cultural and professional settings;
• Demonstrated ability to work independently in outreach, business development, or community partnership roles;
• Comfort working with grief, trauma, illness, and end-of-life topics in a professional, empathetic manner.

Pay range and compensation package: Project-based or performance-based compensation (e.g., per campaign or per successful referral); Access to training materials, branded tools, and editorial support from the platform team; High performers may be offered territory lead or long-term collaboration roles.
