Job summary

Venture Search is assisting a flagship US hedge fund in New York to hire a Fundamental Long/Short Equity Portfolio Manager focused on Utilities. Location is New York, USA, with remote work possible within the USA.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of utilities equity investing experience and a proven track record of managing an equity book. The PM will own the strategy, with the opportunity to build a dedicated pod and become the sole portfolio manager for the sector.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hedge fund experience in utilities equity investing.
• Proven track record of owning and trading an equity book in a hedge fund/asset manager.
• Strong fundamentals and sector analysis skills.

Fundamental L/S Equity Portfolio Manager - Utilities– 8bn USD Hedge Fund

Location – New York, USA (can be remote in USA)

Description

A well established US based Hedge Fund is looking to add to their Equity Franchise, with a Utilities sector specialist.

Ideal candidates will have a demonstrable track record of 3+ years within a Hedge Fund focused on Utilities sector specific equity investing. The successful incumbent will own with strategy, with opportunity to build a pod and be the sole PM trading in the sector.

The group have a very mature approach to risk management, will PM’s given the autonomy at the same time as being given excellent support internally in terms of infrastructure and execution. Additionally, the pay-out structure is entirely formulaic giving control on earnings.

Role Requirements

• Successful track record running a L/S Eq book at a hedge fund / Asset Manager / Trading House
• Sector specialist in Utilities
• Extensive experience in fundamental equity research
• Robust risk management process
• Proficiency with Bloomberg, FactSet, and similar financial data providers
