Fundamental L/S Equity Portfolio Manager (SMid Cap focused) – New York

A rapidly growing and well funded European Hedge Fund is looking to build-out their US franchise with a number of PM hires for their NY office. The firm has a well established presence across the UK, Europe and APAC regions, with the US market being where they require additional presence.

Ideal candidates will have a demonstrable track record of 4+ years within a Hedge Fund focused on sector specific equity investing, with a SMid cap focus preferred. At this stage in their growth, the book size available will be between 250-500m, however they have ability to ramp in time after demonstrating reliable returns.

The group have a very mature approach to risk management, will PM’s given the autonomy at the same time as being given excellent support internally in terms of infrastructure and execution. Additionally, the pay-out structure is entirely formulaic and above market average.

While NYC is where the group have physical offices at the moment, for more tenured PM’s the opportunity to work remotely is available.

Role Requirements:

• Successful track record running a L/S Eq book at a hedge fund / Asset Manager / Trading House
• Sector specialist (SMid Cap focus)
• Extensive experience in fundamental equity research
• Robust risk management process
• Proficiency with Bloomberg, FactSet, and similar financial data providers
