Job summary

CAIS seeks a highly organized Analyst to support fund operations across single-investment and fund-of-funds vehicles, with opportunities to assist with fund accounting and reporting. Ideal candidates have 1–3 years in fund operations, a foundational understanding of investment operations, and strong Excel/analytic skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or a related discipline preferred.
  • 1–3 years of experience in fund operations, fund accounting, or financial services; alternative investment experience preferred.
  • Foundational understanding of investment operations, fund structures, reconciliations, or accounting principles.
  • Strong interest in AI tools to improve processes; experience with AI or automation tools preferred.
  • Strong Excel and analytical skills, with attention to data accuracy and detail.
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proactive, resourceful, and comfortable working with internal teams and external service providers.

Responsibilities

  • Support the day-to-day operations of investment vehicles, including transactions and capital calls.
  • Monitor investments and coordinate with fund managers, administrators, custodians, and internal teams.
  • Assist with cash and portfolio reconciliations, month-end and quarter-end activities, investor reporting.
  • Maintain accurate fund data, trackers, process documentation, controls, and reporting.
  • Learn and apply AI and automation tools to streamline workflows and reduce manual work.
  • Test AI outputs and new tech solutions to ensure accuracy and proper controls.
  • Support additional fund management, accounting, and strategic projects as needed.

CAIS is seeking a highly organized and process-oriented Analyst to join the Fund Management team. This role will primarily support fund operations across single-investment and fund-of-funds vehicles, with opportunities to assist with fund accounting and financial reporting activities.

The Analyst will also play an important role in learning, testing, and applying AI tools to improve how the team operates. The ideal candidate is curious about technology, eager to develop an understanding of alternative investment operations, and motivated to automate manual processes while maintaining strong controls and data accuracy.

Responsibilities
  • Support the day-to-day operations of investment vehicles, including transactions, capital calls, distributions, cash movements, and other fund lifecycle events.
  • Monitor underlying investments and coordinate with fund managers, administrators, custodians, and internal teams to ensure timely and accurate processing.
  • Assist with cash and portfolio reconciliations, month-end and quarter-end activities, investor reporting, and other fund accounting deliverables.
  • Maintain accurate fund data, operational trackers, process documentation, controls, and management reporting.
  • Learn and apply AI and automation tools to streamline workflows, analyze data, prepare documentation, and reduce manual work.
  • Test AI-generated outputs and new technology solutions to ensure accuracy, consistency, and appropriate controls.
  • Support additional fund management, accounting, and strategic projects based on business needs.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or a related discipline preferred.
  • 1–3 years of experience in fund operations, fund accounting, financial services, or a related field; alternative investment experience is preferred.

CAIS’ compensation package includes a market competitive salary, a performance bonus, and exceptional benefits. If you are located in New York, New York, the base salary range for this role is $72,000.00 - $88,000.00. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location.

CAIS offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes generously subsidized healthcare with 100% employer paid dental and vision insurance, an employer matched retirement plan, wellness programs, and generous PTO and parental leave. Additionally, CAIS offers a flexible, hybrid in-office model; for most roles, we do require a minimum of 3 days in office per week.
