Job summary

Advocates Legal Recruiting is seeking a Fund Formation Associate (2-6 years) to support an AmLaw 100 client advising venture capital and growth equity sponsors in the U.S. and internationally.

The role covers sponsor-side structuring, fund formation, documentation, and ongoing fund counseling through launch and beyond. You will engage in negotiations with LPs, manage workstreams with minimal supervision, and gain exposure to high-caliber fundraises across venture and growth strategies, with a

Qualifications

• 2–6 years fund formation experience with sponsors (VC, growth, PE, or adjacent)
• Training from a national or international law firm
• Strong drafting, client judgment, and ability to run workstreams without hand-holding
• Superior academics and polished communication skills

Responsibilities

• Sponsor-side structuring, formation, and ongoing operation of investment funds.
• Fund documentation, negotiations with LPs, and day-to-day fund counseling through launch and beyond.
• Exposure to a steady pipeline of institutional-quality fundraises across venture and growth strategies.
• Experience with fund investment activities is a plus.
