Job summary

Coda Search│Staffing is partnering with a boutique, investment-focused asset manager in Stamford, CT to hire a Fund Controller for its lean finance and operations team. This role offers broad exposure, meaningful responsibility, and visibility across the firm's fund operations.

The candidate will oversee fund accounting, prepare NAVs and financial statements, and work closely with senior leadership on accounting and operational initiatives. Hybrid schedule; compensation up to $200K.

Qualifications

• Approximately 4–8 years of relevant experience.
• Hedge fund experience is required.
• Experience in public accounting, private accounting, or a combination of both.
• CPA strongly preferred.
• Strong technical accounting foundation and excellent attention to detail.
• Exposure to multiple investment products/strategies is highly desirable.
• Candidates with some private equity experience will also be considered.
• Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a lean, entrepreneurial environment.
• Genuine "team over me" mentality.
• Highly motivated to learn, take on responsibility, and grow with the organization.
• Comfortable being hands-on and taking a true roll-up-your-sleeves approach.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and execute a broad range of fund accounting and financial reporting responsibilities.
• Participate in the preparation and review of financial statements, NAVs, and related reporting.
• Support technical accounting matters and complex fund-related transactions.
• Partner closely with senior leadership on accounting, finance, and operational initiatives.
• Help identify opportunities to improve processes, controls, and overall efficiency.
• Work cross-functionally across the organization and gain exposure to a wide range of fund operations.
• Serve as a hands-on resource who is comfortable getting into the details rather than simply managing from a distance.
