Job summary

Qualifications

• 10+ years of hedge fund finance or public accounting experience.
• Controller-level responsibility or readiness to assume the role.

• Strong understanding of U.S. fund tax and trading income allocations.
• Technology-oriented approach with automation and AI in finance.

Responsibilities

• Own the fund close: Lead NAV production and month-end and year-end closes across multiple fund entities, including investor allocations, capital accounts, and management and incentive fees.
• Lead financial reporting: Oversee annual GAAP financial statements, coordinate external audits and manage fund administrator relationships.
• Support a global trading platform: Oversee accounting and reconciliations across rates, FX, futures, sovereign debt, credit, equities and derivatives.
• Manage regulatory reporting: Coordinate the preparation, review and submission of Form PF, 13F and other applicable filings.
• Work across investment structures: Oversee accounting and reporting for SMAs and external/private fund investments, with involvement in investment-manager and principal/family office matters.
• Connect fund accounting and tax: Work with tax advisers to ensure trading activity, income character and investor allocations are accurately reflected in reporting.
• Improve the finance function: Strengthen controls and streamline NAV, reconciliation and reporting workflows through automation, data tools and practical applications of AI.

We’re partnering with a global investment firm to hire a Controller with broad ownership across fund accounting, financial reporting and the finance processes supporting a complex investment platform.

It suits someone who enjoys understanding the trading activity behind the numbers and using technology to improve how a finance function operates.

Responsibilities:

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of relevant experience across hedge fund finance and/or public accounting, with current Controller-level responsibility or readiness to step into the role.
• Strong ownership of the full fund accounting lifecycle, including NAV, investor allocations, financial statements and audits.
• Experience with global macro strategies or a comparable range of complex, multi-asset products.
• Hands-on knowledge of regulatory reporting and administrator oversight.
• A strong understanding of U.S. fund tax and how the character and allocation of trading income flow through to investors.
• A technology-oriented approach, with experience improving processes through automation and an interest in applying AI within finance.
• Strong judgment, attention to detail and the ability to take ownership of complex accounting matters.
