The role involves troubleshooting, classroom IT support, and maintaining complex VMware/VDE environments across Windows, Unix, and Linux platforms.

You will coordinate software/hardware deployments, create SOPs, and assist instructors with IMI/CAI/LMS tools while aligning with AFI 33-115 and DoD cyber standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems, or Computer Science from ABET accredited or DoD training.
• Minimum 2 years of system administration/IT services experience in enterprise environments of similar scope.

VFI is certified by the Small Business Administration (SBA) as a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB).VFI seeks an experienced, professional Functional Systems Administrator (FSA) II under a complex, multi-year contract to support intelligence training systems, programs, tools, applications, and operations for the 315th Training Squadron/Plans, Programs, and Resources (315 TRS/XPS) and 313 TRS/XPS at Goodfellow AFB, TX.Note: All candidates must possess a CURRENT active DoD Top Secret/SCI Clearance.Location: Goodfellow AFB, TXSchedule: Monday – FridayTravel: Minimal, less than 10%Duties and Responsibilities:The FSA II will be part of a team that serves as the focal point for all intelligence training applications and systems. The FSA II will respond to user requests for assistance and provide support to end users/customers regarding hardware and software malfunctions. The FSA II maintains the technical infrastructure as required to meet business needs with little or no corporate supervision.The FSA II will identify and resolve common problems, questions, or situations and provide support in a manner that minimizes interruptions to the customer’s ability to carry out their training mission. The FSA II will provide hands-on training to instructors and other FSAs on intelligence applications, specialized computer software, and operating systems.The FSA II will coordinate and install software applications and hardware peripherals on Windows, Unix, and Linux platforms and will:Develop and maintain system administration standard operating procedures, technical guides, and instructions.Support the use of computer-based training products (i.e. computer-assisted instruction (CAI), interactive courseware (ICW), interactive multimedia instruction (IMI), and learning management systems (LMS).Maintain consolidated IMI project effort tracking spreadsheet to sync training requirements with outside development efforts and deliver/maintain all updates and new courseware created.Provide operational support services including, but not limited to, systems administration, support of both legacy and new applications and systems in accordance with AFI 33-115, Network Operations, and DoDM 8140.03 Cyberspace Workforce Qualification and Management Program.The FSA II will operate as a Cyber Security Liaison (CSL) to submit, track, and report status on tickets in IAO Express and Remedy for EITaaS ServiceNow, NIPRNet, SIPRNet and other training networks to resolve and/or respond to computer issues and security group requests.The FSA II will provide account management and email account support for training networks and the LMS, and will serve as primary support for the LMS, IMI delivery systems, and Tools/Systems of Record.The FSA II will deliver daily, as needed classroom support to instructors and students.The FSA II will provide administration, hardware and software support, life cycle support, and maintenance services on GCCS-I3 server suite and client machines.Work performed by the FSA II will require access to classified and unclassified data, information, and spaces. Upon request the FSA II will submit system metrics and other reporting data to the Corporate Program Manager for CDRL production.The FSA II will perform the following tasks:Build, test, capture, and deploy system baselines and images, to include, within a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environment, including the Targeting Application Workstation (TAW) spiral load received from the PMO.Manage VMware vSphere Infrastructure and Desktop/End-user computing environments running the Tools/Systems of Record.Deploy VMware vSphere, VMware Horizon, VMware Dynamic Environment Manager, and NetApp storage, as required.Set up, configure and maintain multiple components such as Dell VxRail Manager Suite, vCenter, vSphere Hypervisor (ESXi), Virtual Desktop Provisioning, virtual machine templates, TITAN, and others.Perform routine backups and restore functionality on all intelligence training applications and systems.It will be necessary to provide after-hours support as needed.Required Education, Experience, Qualifications, and Certifications:A Bachelor of Science (BS_ degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems, or Computer Science from an ABET accredited or CAE designated institution or DoD military training in one of the following: WRCF07DZZ1, M03385G, M10395B, M223854, W-250-0750, A-531-0021, W-250-0750, W-250-0750, A-150-1980, A-150-1202, A-150-1203, A-150-1250, A-150-1855 / A-150-1940, A-113-0205, A-113-0175, A-113-0018, A-113-0382, A-113-0027, A-113-0383, A-113-0175, A-113-0202, A-113-0233 or DISA-US1379.At least two (2) years of experience providing system administration and IT professional services in enterprises of similar scope and complexity.Ability to manage and troubleshoot systems, platforms, and solutions while adhering to required security policies and protocols.Knowledge of and experience with system documentation and organization.Knowledge of and experience with current technology and practices, including intelligence training software applications and cybersecurity tools, processes and procedures.Strong communication skills (oral and written) and strong interpersonal and organizational skills, with a professional demeanor and strong personal ethics.
