Job Description

The Functional Business Consultant serves as a business system or business process subject matter expert for their assigned area. This position will represent their area of expertise regarding business system knowledge on internal and client projects, regulatory requirements, process improvement, advanced research, root cause analysis, complex issue research, documentation, communications, client interaction, training, testing, ongoing system support, and developing reports and coordinating audits.

Responsibilities
  • Represents assigned business system or business process as a subject matter expert in the development of business requirements, system specifications, process flows, process change, and/or project management.
  • Participates in adopting operational best practices and standard operating procedures related to assigned business system or process.
  • Works directly with business, IT, and users to support and improve existing applications and processes related to the assigned business system.
  • Researches and resolves business and technical problems by identifying, evaluating, and implementing improvements to processes and applications, independently or with guidance.
  • May conduct testing, including creating test plans, test cases, performing User Acceptance Testing, and Joint Cycle Testing.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, IT, or related field, or equivalent experience; HS diploma or GED required.
  • At least 3 years of experience in business analysis, project management, or process improvement, including a minimum of 1 year in specific areas such as claims, eligibility, or benefits.
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Additional Qualifications
  • Experience establishing and maintaining client relationships.
  • Understanding of pharmaceutical and medical claims data; highly analytical.
  • Self-motivated learner of new processes/software.
  • Strong interpersonal, facilitation, conflict management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects under pressure.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Rx Claims system proficiency.
  • Previous PBM or healthcare experience.
  • Experience with queries.
Physical Demands
  • Occasional non-standard hours and travel.
  • Constant sitting, handling, talking, and hearing.
  • Frequent reaching; occasional standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching.
  • Occasional lifting up to 10 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required.

Potential salary ranges from $66,000 to $106,000, based on experience and skills.
