Job summary

Ecolab is seeking fumigation specialists for field-based work in Westfield, IN, with travel to Indiana and Michigan as needed. You will assist with the complete fumigation process, manage readings, and ensure compliance with safety labels and SDS forms.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Current and valid Driver's License.
  • Ability to obtain fumigation certifications and licenses.
  • Willingness to travel overnight 50%+ during peak season.
  • Ability to work overnight shifts as needed.
  • On-call availability during off-hours and weekends.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to obtain a state fumigation certificate/license.
  • Ability to obtain a TWIC card for facility access.
  • Ability to obtain a CDL with Hazmat endorsement.
  • Background check required for job offer.
  • Drug test including THC for federal contract roles.
  • Immigration sponsorship not available for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the complete fumigation process including sealing, tarping, and aerating facilities.
  • Use handheld devices to document service, gas readings, and sanitation issues.
  • Read labels and SDS forms for hazardous chemicals used during services.
  • Communicate effectively with customers as needed.
  • Inspect, maintain, and use PPE properly.
  • Follow OSHA and customer-specified safety guidelines.
  • Record data with electronic devices used in fumigation management.

What You Will Do:

In this role you will be trained appropriately to perform the following duties:

  • Assistwith the complete fumigation process, including but not limited to sealing, tarping, introduction of fumigant, conducting fume readings, and aerating/de-gassingfacilities

  • Use handheld computerized equipment to manage service and document structural, sanitation and pest issues, and gas monitoring equipment to conduct readings during fumigations

  • Read, understand, follow labels, and MSDS forms for hazardous chemicals used during services provided

  • Effectively communicate with customers as needed

  • Inspect,maintain, andutilizePersonal Protection Equipment (PPE) properly

  • Follow proper safetyprotocolsincludingOSHA mandatedand customerspecified guidelines

  • Use equipment involved infumigationmanagement services, including electronic devices for recording and reporting data

Position Details:

This is a field-based position based in Westfield, IN and may require travel to the following cities and surrounding areas:

Indiana, Michigan

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • Due to the nature and hours of work, must be 18 years of age or older

  • Position requires a current and valid Driver's License

  • Understand labels and SDS forms for hazardous chemicals

  • Twoyears ofwork or military experience

  • Abilityto obtainrequiredfumigation certifications and licensespursuant tocountry or state/local laws

  • Anticipate 50% or more overnight travel for business during peak season

  • Position requires the ability to work overnight shifts as needed

  • Willingness to be on-call during off work hours and weekends as necessary

  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing

  • Position requires understanding and interpreting English labels and Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for hazardous chemicals

  • Position requires state fumigation certificate/licensepursuant tocountry or state /local laws or ability to obtain one

  • Position requires the ability to obtain a TWIC cardto access secure facilities

  • Position requires the ability to obtain a CDL with Hazmat endorsement

  • Ecolab conducts a background check on all candidates who receive a job offer

Physical Demands:
  • Position requires wearing and using a respirator or Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus

  • Position requires lifting/pushing/pulling/carrying up to 70 pounds chest high

  • Position requires working in a variety of conditions which may include confined spaces, damp and/or dusty locations, freezing and hot conditions, extreme heights of up to 150 feet, and use of ladders, scissor lifts, or arial boom lifts

  • Essential duties of the position include lifting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, reaching, climbing, using hands and fingers, balancing, walking, standing, sitting,pulling,talkingand hearing.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Experience with reading product labels, computing and mixingaccurateconcentrations of chemicals, following all label requirements

  • Ability to use all equipment involved infumigationmanagement services, including electronic devices for recording and reporting data

  • Computer Skills: database software (including industry-specific software), company network-based and “cloud”-based applications, smart phones, Microsoft Office, and other electronic devices used to access information and enter data

Annual or Hourly Compensation Range

The pay range for this position is $37,700-$56,600. Many factors are taken into consideration when determining compensation, such as experience, education, training, geography, etc. We comply with all minimum wage and overtime laws.
