Job Title: Fully Remote Tax Director

Location: Massachusetts - Remote

Compensation: $130K-$185k base salary

Requirement: 6+ years of Public Accounting experience. CPA preferred, but not required.

This is a fully remote opportunity with a preference of candidates on Eastern and Central Standard Time Zones.

We are a regional firm located in Wakefield, MA with staff spread out across all time zones. Our main focus on clientele is on the High-Net-Worth side of things offering services including tax compliance, philanthropic advising, estate planning to name a few. We also focus on these industries as well; Construction, Manufacturing, Distribution, Non-Profit, etc.

Position Overview: The Tax Manager is responsible for overseeing all tax-related activities for the organization, including compliance, research, and planning. The Tax Manager will ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, as well as provide tax advice and support to internal stakeholders. They will also provide guidance on potential tax savings opportunities, while ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all tax-related activities, including the preparation of quarterly and year-end tax returns, planning, and compliance.
• Identify potential tax savings opportunities and provide research and advice on tax-related issues.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial reporting.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with external auditors and other third-party service providers.
• Provide guidance and support on tax-related projects and initiatives.
• Monitor and stay up-to-date on current tax laws and regulations.
• Develop, implement, and maintain internal processes and controls to ensure compliance with tax regulations.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Prior experience with ProSystem fx Tax, BNA products, and CCH Intelliconnect is desired
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in tax preparation and research.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and accounting software.
