Goodwill Greater Milwaukee & Chicago is seeking a Shuttle Bus Driver to safely transport staff, trainees, and personnel at Naval Station Great Lakes. The role covers gate-to-gate runs, galley duties, and paperwork, with work weeks including Sunday, Monday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday and days off on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Responsibilities include operating a 25-passenger bus on base, maintaining logs and vehicle condition, and adhering to on-base procedures.

Qualifications

• One year of driving experience preferred.
• Valid CDL with P Endorsement; on-base driving allowed.
• Valid driver’s license for at least 36 months with a clean record.
• DOT Medical Card preferred.

Responsibilities

• Drive 25-passenger bus on base and transport riders between facilities and established pick up points.
• Provide galley runs within a structured framework.
• Maintain professional behavior in all situations and complete required paperwork legibly.
• Operate vehicle following safe driving practices and on-base regulations.
• Maintain log of pick-up/drop-off locations and rider counts.
• Complete DOT pre/post trip inspections and document findings.
• Keep vehicle clean and refuel at end of shift.
• Follow SOPs for routes and schedules and complete required paperwork.
• Establish positive working relationships with riders and Goodwill staff.

The Shuttle Bus Driver is responsible for the safe, timely, and efficient transport of riders at Naval Station Great Lakes. Will transport staff, trainees and other personnel to and from the gates, established pick up points, and between all facilities. Will provide other galley runs according to set standards. Responsible to complete all required paperwork accurately and legibly.

Work days are Sunday, Monday, Thur, Friday and Saturday with Tuesday and Wednesday's off.

Responsibility Level

Responsible for the safe, timely, and efficient transport of riders at Naval Station Great Lakes. Will transport staff, trainees and other personnel to and from the gates, established pick up points, and between all facilities. Will provide other galley runs according to set standards. Responsible to complete all required paperwork. accurately and legibly.

Principal Duties

• Drive 25-passenger bus on base. Will transport riders between facilities and all established pick up points
• Will provide galley runs within a structured framework
• Maintain professional behavior in all situations
• Perform driving duties using safe driving skills, following road rules and laws and on-base regulations
• Maintain log of pick-up/drop-off locations and number of riders transported
• Complete required DOT pre/post trip inspection of bus including accurate documentation of inspection
• Maintain high quality of vehicle care
• Follow all established standard operating procedures to include routes and schedules
• Complete paper work as required
• Establish/maintain positive/professional working relations with riders, other drivers, and all Goodwill staff
• Clean interior of vehicle at the end of each shift. Make cursory check of vehicle cleanliness throughout shift
• Clean exterior and interior of vehicle on a weekly basis
• Ensure vehicle is fueled at the end of shift

Requirements

• One year of successful driving experience preferred
• Previous experience driving disabled population preferred
• Valid Driver License for at least 36 months prior to applying, with clean driving record
• Valid Class A, B, or C Commercial Drivers License with P Endorsement
• DOT Medical Card preferred
• Driving record acceptable to insurance carrier/Goodwill

the pay rate for this position is $25.02
