Job summary

Grote Automotive - Fort Wayne is seeking a dependable Lot Porter to help maintain the dealership's appearance and support daily operations. You will move and park vehicles, keep inventory organized, and assist customers while ensuring safety and efficiency on the lot.

Responsibilities include washing, detailing, unloading shipments, reporting discrepancies, and keeping grounds clean in a fast-paced dealership environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to operate both automatic and manual transmission vehicles.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Positive attitude and strong customer service skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
• Previous dealership, porter, or automotive experience is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Safely move and park vehicles throughout the dealership lot and designated parking areas.
• Maintain an organized, accessible, and visually appealing vehicle inventory.
• Wash, vacuum, and detail vehicles to ensure they are ready for display and customer delivery.
• Assist with receiving and unloading incoming vehicle shipments.
• Support customers by answering basic questions and directing them to the appropriate department or team member.
• Monitor vehicle inventory and report any damages, missing items, or discrepancies.
• Keep the lot, parking areas, and surrounding grounds clean, neat, and free of debris.
• Follow all dealership safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
• Assist with additional dealership tasks as needed to support daily operations.
