Job summary

Physical Intelligence is seeking a Fullstack Software Engineer to build internal products that accelerate Pi's research and operations teams. You will own human-robot interfaces, design for the whole shift, ensure safety, and ship realtime edge software with latency budgets tight enough to feel direct, collaborating with researchers, operators, and engineers across lab, warehouse, and partner sites.

Qualifications

• Experience building production React/TypeScript web apps and APIs.
• Realtime web experience with WebRTC, WebSockets, and streaming video.
• Familiar with protobuf, gRPC, or similar interfaces.
• Experience shipping software for on-prem or on-device deployment.
• Strong UX sense for high-stakes, high-frequency interfaces.
• Ability to design workflows integrating people, hardware, and software.
• Strong product judgment and collaboration with users on evolving requirements.

Responsibilities

• Own the human-robot interfaces: the software to run, monitor, and debug robots.
• Design for the whole shift, not just the episode.
• Design for safety, with predictable failure modes and safe actions.
• Own the realtime edge: video, state, and control with low latency budgets.
• Draw the line between device and cloud, decide what stays local.
• Ship into the physical world with on-prem and on-device deployment.
• Make the work measurable with instrumentation and data gathering.
• Act as your own PM: gather requirements, prioritize, ship, and drive adoption.
