Job summary

Stew Leonard’s Wines of Yonkers seeks a Full Time Wine and Spirits Receiver to ensure accurate receipt of products and proper placement in the warehouse and wine shop. The role supports store merchandising and assists customers in a fast-paced retail environment.

Must be 18+ with warehouse experience, valid NYS driver license, and forklift experience (certification preferred). Lifting up to 50 pounds is required; schedules include Tue–Fri 7:00–3:30 and Sat 12:30–9:00.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Forklift experience and a valid forklift certification/license preferred.
• Valid NYS driver license is required.
• Experience with a picker or willingness to learn is expected.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Strong organizational skills and basic math.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
• Independent lifting up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Review invoices and purchase orders prior to unloading deliveries to verify accuracy.
• Unload and break down incoming deliveries.
• Inspect products for damage and verify that the correct items and quantities have been received.
• Return completed invoices to the Wine Shop office.
• Check store for needs before storing in warehouse.
• Frequent routine picks from warehouse for store floor.
• Rotating stock in store and warehouse.
• Assist in merchandising store and helping customers; assist with deliveries as needed.
• Make frequent trips between receiving, warehouse, and Wine Shop.
• Keep work areas clean and organized.

Our customers love shopping at Stew Leonard’s Wines, and our Warehouse Receivers play an important role in ensuring products are received accurately, efficiently, and ready for the sales floor.

The Warehouse Receiver is responsible for the timely and accurate receipt of product and placement in designated areas of the warehouse and wine shop. Incoming deliveries are unloaded, broken down, inspected, and verified to ensure the correct products and quantities have been delivered according to the purchase order.

Key Responsibilities

• Review invoices and purchase orders prior to unloading deliveries to verify accuracy
• Unload and break down incoming deliveries.
• Inspect products for damage and verify that the correct items and quantities have been received based on the purchase order.
• Return completed invoices to the Wine Shop office.
• Check store to see if product is needed in store before putting away in the warehouse

• Ability to make deliveries as needed
• Make frequent trips between the receiving area, warehouse, and Wine Shop.

Working Conditions: The wine store is a retail environment with a sales floor, front end, office space, break room, and warehouse. Every team member interacts with all areas of the store. Merchandise is thoughtfully displayed on the sales floor to allow for comfortable movement by team members and customers. Warehousing space can be tight depending on inventory levels. Occasionally there is need to enter the parking lot, and rear of the building where team members will be subjected to weather conditions. Driving and normal road conditions during deliveries should also be expected.
