Qualifications

• 1+ years of veterinary clinical experience required.
• Knowledge of industry tools and equipment.
• Obtaining accurate and thorough medical histories.
• Blood draws (cephalic, saphenous, and jugular).
• Placing IV catheters.
• Digital radiology including positioning.
• Dentistry (digital x-rays, scaling, polishing).
• Anesthesia (induction, intubation, monitoring, aseptic technique).
• Laboratory skills such as ear and fecal cytology; HM5; Vetscan; Sedivue.
• Experience with proper animal handling and restraint.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians with exams, treatments, and surgical procedures.
• Safely handle and restrain animals; administer medications and vaccines.
• Collect lab samples and maintain accurate patient records.

Who We're Looking For

We are currently looking to hire a Full-Time Veterinary Assistant join our team! The ideal candidate will be a dependable, detail-oriented team player who loves pets and being part of a fun, supportive team. They will have experience rooming patients, surgical assisting experience and knowledge of equipment used, drawing blood and running bloodwork, x-ray, and proper positioning, experience with proper animal handling and restraint, understanding the importance of client education, and being a positive and motivating team member. Village Vet Hospital aims to provide owners with sound, honest choices for their pets and to provide our patients with excellent and compassionate medical care.
