Job summary

Laurel Veterinary Clinic, part of the Suveto network, in Broomfield, CO, is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our team. This full-time role supports veterinarians and technicians, ensuring high-quality client service in a fast-paced hospital.

The ideal candidate loves animals, communicates well, and can multitask while upholding our core values of compassion, teamwork, and safety. Experience in a veterinary setting is preferred; HS diploma required; pay is $17–$20 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Knowledge of basic animal care and medical terminology.
• Ability to handle and restrain animals safely.
• Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to learn from veterinarians and senior staff.
• Compassionate nature and love for animals.

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam rooms and assist during appointments.
• Take history from clients and record observations.
• Educate clients on preventative care and follow up.
• Communicate concerns to veterinarians.
• Perform venipuncture and in-house lab tasks.
• Provide nursing care and monitor patients.
• Admit and discharge patients per protocols.
• Maintain clean, stocked exam rooms and areas.
• Follow OSHA regulations and hospital safety standards.
• Communicate updates to clients as requested.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
