Job summary

Fairgrounds Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to support client and patient care across hospital services, including exams, outpatient procedures, and surgery, in a fast-paced setting.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years of veterinary experience, strong animal handling and record-keeping skills, and may speak Spanish. This is a full-time, on-site role with a 4/10 schedule and a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in veterinary assistant or related role preferred.
• Proficiency in safe animal handling and restraint.
• Experience maintaining medical records and documentation.
• Ability to support exams, treatments and outpatient procedures.

Responsibilities

• Support efficient exam room, outpatient, and surgical workflows.
• Provide safe patient handling and restraint during care.
• Prepare patients, equipment, and treatment areas for procedures.
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation.
• Review treatment plans with clients clearly and compassionately.
• Build positive client relationships through education and service.
• Maintain clean and prepared exam rooms and spaces.
