Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or GED. Must be able to obtain certification in the use of federally approved alcohol testing equipment, DOT drug urine collection, and FEMA certifications for EOC duty.
• Bilingual/biliterate preferred.
• Proficient in using multiple computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Access.
• Knowledge of school board policies and state laws as it relates to transportation and traffic safety.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the development of all facets of student transportation safety.
• Reviews and monitors school bus stops/route changes for hazardous conditions.
• Issues citations under driver accountability plan.
• Assists in driver safety training and in-service updates.
• Maintains drug and alcohol testing program under federal mandate guidelines.
• Conducts random alcohol and drug testing and reviews driving records.
• Works with law enforcement and federal agencies to ensure student safety.
