Finger Lakes Community College Association Inc. is seeking an Assistant Teacher to support the Lead Teacher in a safe, inclusive learning environment. You will participate in daily routines, supervise children, and assist with developmentally appropriate activities and personal care.

You will maintain documentation, communicate with families, and help ensure compliance with OCFS regulations. This 40-hour weekly position offers health, dental, vision benefits, retirement matching, and tuition

Qualifications

• Candidates must meet all OCFS requirements for the position and age group.
• Preferred qualifications include education and/or experience in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Human Services, or related field.
• All employees must complete background clearances, health documentation, orientation, training, and professional development per OCFS and Center policies.

Responsibilities

• Assist Lead Teacher to maintain a safe, clean, organized classroom.
• Help implement developmentally appropriate activities and routines.
• Supervise children at all times and maintain staff-to-child ratios.
• Engage with children through play, conversation, and exploration.
• Support children’s social-emotional development and positive guidance strategies.
• Assist with toileting, diapering, feeding, dressing, rest, and personal care as appropriate.
• Develop warm, responsive relationships promoting safety and belonging.
• Communicate with families and Lead Teacher about daily experiences and child needs.
