This is done through pre-sorting, sorting, grading, cleaning, hanging and packagingMay separate (pre-sorts) items according to predetermined classification or criteriaSeparates (sorts) and grades items into goods saleable at the regular storesRemoves surface dirt from glassware and small ware placing items, which are not complete and/or broken into containers for the As-Is or trashPuts saleable clothes on to hangersTags and/or prices itemsPlaces items into containers and puts appropriate storage label on containerWorks with clients who are assigned for vocational services as requestedFollows and enforces all company proceduresPerforms other duties as requestedRequirementsKnowledge of general arithmetic (adding/subtracting) is requiredPreferred QualificationsBasic ability to read and write in EnglishEquipment UsedRacks, plastic pallets, barrels, watermelon boxes, pallet jack dolly, tag gun, pricing gun, wheeled carts.Aptitudes/skills/temperamentAbility to perform routine work, adapting to change as it relates to workflowAbility to maintain self-control and work in cooperation with co-workersAbility to coordinate hand-eye-foot movement to quickly manipulate and handle itemAbility to examine items and visually differentiating between them based on quality standardsAbility to meet and maintain established standardsWorking conditionsWork is performed in a large enclosed warehouse area with even concrete floor surface. The area is heated and has natural ventilation. The temperature will fluctuate depending on locations within the department.Dust and dirt is controlled by daily cleaning of the work area. Some items may be soiled/dirty or broken. These are either cleaned or disposed of following established procedures. A variety of household cleaning products are used. Work is completed independently but in cooperation with the whole department.The noise volume is moderately high throughout the day depending on the amount of activity, equipment in operation, radio operation and television testing.Material handling equipment (forklift, hand truck, moveable containers) may be operated in or near work areas.Emotional EffortThe job is routine with occasional periods of high activity/demand requiring little or no overtime to complete the workPhysical RequirementsThe work pace is steady, requiring lifting and/or carrying up to 25 lbs consistently.
