Job summary

Goodwill of Silicon Valley is seeking a dedicated warehouse associate to process donated items for sale. You will pre-sort, sort, grade, clean, hang and package donations across clothing, housewares, books, toys and more in a busy warehouse environment.

The role requires lifting up to 50 lbs, accuracy in classification, and teamwork with the vocational services program. This is an on-site position with opportunities to contribute to reuse and community impact.

Responsibilities

• Pre-sort, sort, grade, clean, hang and package donated items for sale.

The area is heated and has natural ventilation. The temperature will fluctuate depending on locations within the department.Dust and dirt is controlled by daily cleaning of the work area. Some items may be soiled/dirty or broken. These are either cleaned or disposed of following established procedures. A variety of household cleaning products are used. Work is completed independently but in cooperation with the whole department.The noise volume is moderately high throughout the day depending on the amount of activity, equipment in operation, radio operation and television testing.Material handling equipment (forklift, hand truck, moveable containers) may be operated in or near work areas.Emotional EffortThe job is routine with occasional periods of high activity/demand requiring little or no overtime to complete the workPhysical RequirementsThe work pace is steady, requiring lifting and/or carrying up to 25 lbs consistently.
