Job summary

Independence Bank in Kentucky seeks a Teller to perform daily transactions and greet customers at our location. The position will require working a Saturday rotation and may involve drive-thru duties.

You will process deposits, cash checks, promote banking products, balance the cash drawer daily, and assist customers with account inquiries while upholding bank procedures and policies.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of teller experience; customer service experience preferred.
• Must obtain Independence Bank Teller Certification within 6 months.
• Completion of Teller Fundamentals and Teller Level Up training within three (3) months.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers entering lobby or drive-thru.
• Process deposits, cash checks, loan payments, and cash disbursements.
• Explain, promote, and sell cashier’s checks and prepaid gift cards.
• Balance currency, cash and checks in the drawer daily and maintain accuracy.
• May assist with bank openings/closings and work drive-thru or float to other locations.

Job Summary

A Teller undertakes bank transactions and interacts directly with customers. A Teller is usually the first person a customer sees when they walk into one of our locations. This position will be required to work into a Saturday rotation.

Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Greets all customers and visitors when they enter the location lobby or approach the drive-thru
• Processes daily transactions including receiving deposits, cashing checks, accepting loan payments, and disbursing cash
• Cashes checks and payout money after verifying that signatures are correct, that written and numerical amounts agree, and that accounts have sufficient funds
• Explains, promotes, and sells specialized products such as cashier’s checks and prepaid gift cards
• Performs services for customers including ordering bank cards and checks
• Records all transactions promptly, accurately, and in accordance with bank procedures
• Answers inquiries regarding checking and savings accounts and other bank related products
• Assists customers in solving account errors or problems, providing account balances, etc.
• Balances currency, cash and checks in cash drawer daily; arrange monies according to denomination
• Promotes and maintains positive relations with all contacts, customers, and potential customers
• May be responsible for bank openings and/or closings
• May be required to work drive thru
• May be required to float to other locations
