Full Time Teller - Floater - Middletown Stop & Shop Branch / Middletown CT

Job Overview

As a Float Teller, you will specialize in our branch customer experience through digital engagement, lobby management, transactional processing, and retail servicing interactions. You will process a variety of financial transactions in an accurate and efficient manner. Float tellers will frequently travel to different branches within a designated area to assist branch staff as needed.

Primary Responsibilities
  1. Adhere to established customer service standards and provide a differentiated experience by understanding customer needs and delivering solutions.
  2. Educate customers through digital demonstrations; identify self-service opportunities that meet the customer’s needs.
  3. Engage in lobby management, greeting customers and proactively addressing their immediate needs.
  4. Accurately balance and process customer transactions efficiently following Bank Policy.
  5. Take ownership of escalated account services issues until resolution; log all customer complaints accurately.
  6. Transition identified sales opportunities and provide introductions to appropriate banking partners.
  7. Complete branch-related operational activities (e.g., cash ordering, vault, ATM, wire transfer activities).
  8. Process customer/account maintenance accurately.
  9. Complete Consumer AML (Anti-Money Laundering)/BSA (Bank Secrecy Act)/KYC (Know Your Customer) related activities.
  10. Adhere to applicable compliance/operational risk controls in accordance with Company or regulatory standards.
  11. Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
  12. Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of audit points and issues raised by regulators.
  13. Complete other related duties as assigned.
Scope of Responsibilities

The position is responsible for providing exceptional service to branch customers and resolving routine customer problems in a timely manner. It is important for the jobholder to exemplify empathy, customer centricity, flexibility, adaptability, digital fluency, entrepreneurial spirit, and critical thinking in support of the Company’s culture and brand.

Education and Experience Required
  1. High school diploma or equivalent (GED) and a minimum of 6 months customer service experience, including data entry and/or cash handling experience.
  2. Ability to travel between branches as needed.
  3. Proven verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  4. Exceptional customer service skills.
  5. Well-organized with proven time management and prioritization skills.
  6. Proficient with internet user-level technology.
Physical Requirements
  1. Ability to stand for long periods.
  2. Prolonged use of hands and fingers.
  3. Ability to lift light to heavy objects weighing 5lbs – 30 lbs.
  4. Ability to read fine print.
  5. Ability to interact with customers in an open face-to-face work environment.
