Job summary

The Union Bank Company in Pemberville is seeking a Full-Time Teller to deliver exceptional client experience. You will perform cash transactions, open and refer deposit products, and support branch operations under the Head Teller.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive, prompt, and efficient client transactions and services.
• Assist clients with resolution of account problems and issues.
• Receives checks for cash and for deposits to accounts, verifies amounts, and enters deposits into computer system.
• Cashes checks and processes withdrawals; pays out money after verification of client and balances.
• Recommends the best bank products, including checking accounts, to clients by using the Service Excellence Process and asking for business.
• Identify sales opportunities at the Teller counter and at the drive thru and make professional referrals to other team members for products and services that you cannot open yourself.
• Participates in sales goals that may be established by management for such items as, but not limited to, debit cards, credit cards, digital and mobile banking, and referrals for other bank products and services.
• Offers, opens, and refers, where appropriate, other financial institution products and services such as consumer and mortgage loans, checking and savings accounts, Wealth Management, Treasury Management, Commercial, deposit and loan products, merchant services, IRAs, certificates of deposit, safe deposit boxes, etc.
• Cross-sells financial institution services such as safe deposit boxes, savings, CDs, online & mobile banking, debit cards, credit cards, etc.
• Receives and processes mortgage, consumer loan and other payments and ensures the payments match balances due.
• Places holds on accounts, as necessary, for uncollected funds.
• Counts, verifies and packages coin and currency for buy/sell to vault and Fed.
• Balances cash drawer at the end of the shift and compares total amounts to computer generated proof sheet. Reports any discrepancies to the supervisor, as necessary.
• Is responsible for checking night depository bags and recording proper information on the financial institutions forms.
• Assists in the bank-by-mail function, where available.
• Comply with all department and company policies and procedures.

We are currently searching for a Full-Time Teller at our Pemberville Branch!

Under the direction of the Head Teller, the Teller supports the companys core values and focuses on providing an exceptional client experience. The Teller performs comprehensive cash receipt and payment services in accordance with financial institution procedures. Additionally, this person will perform a variety of client savings, checking and credit account transactions, as well as client services such as, but not limited to, sales of cashiers checks, gift cards, etc... The Teller also offers and opens deposit products, and deposit related products, while referring other bank products to the appropriate bank team member.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Branch Operations:

• Keep abreast of changes in products, policies, and procedures, and attend training as needed.
• Ensures that the Teller station is orderly and properly stocked with forms, supplies, etc.
• Reports malfunctions of Teller terminals and other equipment used at Teller station.
• May be responsible for bank opening/closing.
• Promote and maintain positive relations with all contacts, clients, potential clients, and team members.
• Contribute to the fulfillment of department and company objectives and goals.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
