Job description

Summary

We are seeking dedicated and passionate educators to join in supporting our Infant/Toddler, Twos, and Preschool teaching teams. This position would be four, 10-hour days a week (40 hours a week) full-time teacher assistant with a rotating day off each week. This position would support the classroom and classroom teams by helping create a caring and safe environment for students.


Teacher assistants must be able to communicate, listen, and work well with others in a team environment. Teacher assistants must also support the staff in implementing a quality educational program and in developing positive relationships with the children and their parents. The Teacher Assistant is responsible for implementing developmentally appropriate activities based on children's interests and needs under the direction of the Lead Teacher and the Program Coordinators.


Duties
  • Support in the implementation of curriculum activities and encourage participation by children.
  • Actively engage in activities; manage cleanliness, maintenance, and availability of classroom materials.
  • Maintain proper supervision of all children.
  • Caring for children’s individual needs.
  • Encourage self-help and good hygiene through behavior modeling.
  • Help the daily transition from home to school & school to home..
  • Follow all center policies and state regulations.
  • Maintain a personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.

Requirements
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
  • An understanding of child development.
  • Ability to lift up to 40lbs, using stairs, and get down/up from sitting on the floor frequently.
  • Must clear full background check, fingerprinting and drug test
  • Complete and pass a physical and TB test.

Nice To Haves
  • Minimum 1-2 years experience in professional child care
  • Certification in Infant/Child CPR & First Aid
