Summary

Kids World is hiring teacher assistants and aides for our toddler classrooms.

The teacher assistant supports the lead teacher by maintaining a healthy and safe environment for children and assisting in activities to enhance care and education quality.

They must communicate effectively, listen, and work well within a team.

Teacher Assistants implement developmentally appropriate activities based on children's interests and needs under the guidance of the Teacher and Director. This is a learning position, and we encourage staff who wish to learn and eventually become lead teachers.

In this role, you will assist lead teachers in authentic Montessori classrooms, learning about Montessori philosophy through collaboration.

• Love to learn
• Possess a bachelor's degree (Early Childhood Education preferred) or CDA (ideally)
• Have experience with children aged 4 months to 6 years
• Have worked in a daycare, aftercare, or nursery

Duties

• Assist in implementing curriculum activities and encourage children's participation
• Engage actively in activities; manage classroom cleanliness and materials
• Maintain communication with parents through discussions and reports
• Promote self-help and hygiene behaviors via modeling
• Assist with daily transitions and diaper changes
• Ability to lift 20 lbs
• Follow all policies and regulations
• Maintain personal and professional development plans for continuous improvement

Requirements

• 1-2 years of professional child care experience
• High energy
• Ability to work well with others
• Strong communication skills and basic computer skills
• Understanding of child development
• Leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• CPR and First Aid certification for infants/children
• Clear background check and health screening
