Job summary

LearnWell in Farmington, CT is seeking a passionate teacher to join our behavioral health program. The role involves providing academic support to adolescent students in a 8–15 student classroom within a hospital setting, while they receive treatment.

The position is part-time with daily responsibilities from 7:30 to 4:00, Monday through Friday. Responsibilities include planning daily lessons, offering individualized guidance, and reporting student progress.

Qualifications

• B.A/B.S. degree from an accredited institution.
• CT state teaching license.
• Comfortable working with K-12 students.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Understanding of subject matter relevant to student needs.
• Reliable Transportation.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver daily lesson plans in a small classroom setting.
• Provide individualized assistance to adolescent students.
• Regularly communicate student progress to treatment and education teams.
• Monitor and adjust teaching strategies to support student success.
• Maintain accurate attendance and session reports.
• Manage class sizes ranging from 8 to 15 students.

Currently, we are seeking a passionate and creative teacher to join our team in Farmington, CT on a part-time basis for the school year. This unique position will involve working in a fast-paced behavioral health facility, providing academic support to adolescent school-age patients in a small classroom setting as they receive treatment.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to plan and deliver daily lesson plans, provide individualized assistance to students, and regularly communicate about student progress as needed. Additionally, you will monitor and adjust teaching strategies to ensure student success and maintain accurate attendance and session reports. Most of our class sizes range from 8 to 15 school-age patients at any one time.

Position entails a 40-hour a week commitment, Monday-Friday, 7:30-4:00pm.
