Job description

As a Store Manager Trainee, you’ll train on all aspects of successfully running a store in preparation for managing your own store. Responsibilities include supervising daily store activities, ensuring overall store performance, identifying staffing needs, managing schedules, developing operational plans, and mentoring team members.

Position Details
  • Type: Full-Time
  • Hours: 48-50 hours/week
  • Starting Wage: $28.50/hour
  • Year 1 Earning Potential: Up to $106,000 (including salary and bonus, varies by location)
Key Duties and Responsibilities

Must perform duties with or without reasonable accommodations. Responsibilities include:

  1. Demonstrating company values and competencies (M.A.P.)
  2. Supervising store operations and team performance to deliver excellent customer service
  3. Understanding and communicating company strategy and core values
  4. Handling customer concerns and resolving issues
  5. Maintaining proper store signage, product quality, and freshness
  6. Participating in hiring processes, including reviewing resumes and interviewing candidates
  7. Managing weekly schedules to ensure adequate staffing
  8. Communicating job responsibilities and performance expectations
  9. Conducting store meetings and performance evaluations
  10. Identifying training opportunities for staff development
  11. Managing payroll and controlling losses
  12. Monitoring the competitive environment and recommending adjustments
  13. Providing product feedback and inventory management
  14. Ensuring store safety, cleanliness, and equipment maintenance
  15. Overseeing merchandising and stock levels
  16. Adhering to company policies and maintaining confidentiality
  17. Performing other duties as assigned
Physical Demands
  • Stocking merchandise, lifting up to 45 pounds, and performing physical tasks such as sitting, standing, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and walking
Qualifications
  • Must be 18 or older
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Providing excellent customer service and developing rapport with staff
  • Understanding company policies and managing performance
  • Budget and expense management skills
  • Operating cash registers and store equipment safely
  • Organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Legal requirements for handling alcohol, if applicable
Education & Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • At least 3 years of retail experience; management experience preferred
Travel

Training may involve travel across multiple locations within divisional requirements.
